Volunteer with Us

Our team is expanding and we need YOU!

Are you adopted from China and interested in your Chinese history, connecting with a community of adoptees, and helping reunite families separated during the one-child policy? Nanchang Project (NCPT) is seeking volunteers to fill various unpaid roles within our organization. These are remote positions for our current and future programs and initiatives. If yes to the above, please review the available volunteer positions and apply below!

How you'll benefit:

  • Give back to our community of adoptees by using your specific skill set to assist your peers in their personal search journey

  • Have your picture and bio published on our website’s team page (because you’re official!)

  • Flexible scheduling; tasks can be completed in your free time

  • Use this experience as a résumé builder

  • Share in our successes as a member of our collaborative and impactful organization—every adoptee or birth relative helped is a WIN for the community!

Who we are:

The Nanchang Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2018, fully operated by volunteers. Our mission is to help re-connect adoptees with their roots in China. To date, we have assisted in over 130 reunions and registered 700+ birth families. Our team consists of volunteers across 6 countries. We are proudly also the only organization of its kind that is co-led by both Chinese adoptees and adoptive parents. Ultimately, the longterm vision for Nanchang Project is to someday be entirely led by adult adoptees, so joining our team will help us get closer to accomplishing this goal.

Eligibility:

We welcome all candidates with a passion for our mission to reunite families affected by separation to apply! Our current team is made up of volunteers from diverse backgrounds. Chinese adoptees and members from these adjacent communities are strongly encouraged to apply: those of Asian descent, domestic or international adoptees, adoptive family members. You may be located anywhere in the world; all positions will be conducted remotely. Candidates must be 18 years of age or older.
